And I knew of his story vaugely, his long road to country fame
Yet it never really dawned on me, what his body of work has claimed!

You see his songs are all about our trials, our loves and our lives
And about the struggle to be free or at the least, be satisfied!

"America the Beautiful" is more than just the land
It took this gifted artist to help us understand!

That each path is drawn together, and our journey is in play
And a country singer named Willie has simply painted the way!
